Summer 2024 General Support Intern

Eligibility: Must be an enrolled college Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student
Position Description: Brem Foundation is seeking a motivated and responsible hybrid intern (remote and some in-person meetings and event attendance required) for the Summer of 2024 to contribute to fundraising and development initiatives. The hybrid intern will work closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Strategy and Programs, and the entire Brem team to take on the following projects:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Remote and in-person event support for educational programs and tabling events as they arise (this may include limited evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays)
Remote support for all digital campaign efforts
Research and develop new and ongoing programs advancing early detection of breast cancer
Social media support: draft captions and create posts and assist with website updates
Research and submit articles on key facts and issues about breast cancer in DC
Support existing and new programmatic initiatives
Support monthly newsletter and other digital communications
Other duties as assigned

Summer 2024 Development Intern

Support digital and in-person fundraisers and cause marketing opportunities (this may include evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays)
Collect and organize RSVPs for summer events
Make outgoing phone calls as needed to invite support to events
Attend and take notes on development-related webinars
Create and organize a folder of donor research
Support e-newsletters and organic posts on all social media channels

Part-Time Project Coordinator (Temporary)
*Candidates should be based in the DC metro area as in-person staff meetings and event(s) attendance is required, as well as some local coordination for other responsibilities.
Temporary Position: The timeframe for this position is Jun 10, 2024 through Nov 15, 2024 at approximately 20-30 hours per week at $20 per hour.

Position Description
The PT Project Coordinator is a self-starter with a can-do attitude who is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong writing and editing abilities, and enjoys a small team environment and space for creativity. Added bonus for a candidate with analytic ability, a passion for breast cancer early detection, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
The PT Project Coordinator will report to both the Director of Development and Director of Strategy and Programming, respectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Operations
Manage inventory of collateral and office supplies and mail collateral to partners and other external stakeholders as requested by team members
Assist with creating calendar events, invitations to staff members, creating meeting documents, and taking notes during meetings
Assist Operations and Strategy Associate with managing and organizing staff’s receipts
Assist Operations and Strategy Associate with keeping the Google Drive organized
Programs and Communications
Manage volunteer program, including coordinating volunteers for events, tabling requests, health fairs, and other areas where Brem representation is needed
Create and oversee volunteer training program with support from Operations and Strategy Associate
Prepare for, and attend meetings with nonprofit partners, corporations, donors, medical advisors, community leaders, and members
Track current media on key topics in early detection, including subjects like proposed legislation, risk reduction, breast density, diagnostic technologies, mammography guidelines, and insurance coverage
Send a weekly email recap to the team with relevant articles found for awareness and sharing through Brem communications
Assist in coordinating and planning education events and stewarding relationships with programmatic partner organizations
Support program operations and expansion with research and outreach as assigned
Coordinate logistics, donations, and communication with volunteers for the Re-Bra Initiative
Draft and post social media posts and assist with digital education newsletters as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Development
Assist with downloading reports from online platforms, including the donor database (Kindful), gift matching (Double the Donation) external corporate workplace giving portals, and others as needed
Assist with planning and coordinating fundraising and cause marketing events
Assist with all direct mail and online fundraising communications
Make outbound phone calls to thank donors, provide event updates, and request support for initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
One to two years of professional experience
Bachelor’s or Associate's degree required
Comfortable wearing many hats, collaborative yet self-directed, and highly organized
Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication
Proficient in the use of personal computers, office productivity software, and common business computer technologies (e.g., Windows, Word, Excel, printers, copiers, and scanners)
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly
Flexibility to adjust to new strategies, procedures, and tasks as the organization evolves
Reliable and discrete with sensitive information
