Computer Algorithm Failure in the UK
A computer algorithm failure in England, dating back to 2009, has resulted in 450,000 women aged between 68 and 71 not receiving an invitation letter to make a screening appointment. Because of the algorithm failure, many women have not received their triennial screening, and up to 270 women may have died as a result.
